Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company seeks a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Manager for commercial projects. You will lead MEP teams, oversee design to commissioning, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have 3–20+ years in MEP management, a relevant BS, and professional certifications. Excellent leadership and communication are required to coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional certifications (PE, PMP, LEED, CCP) are a plus.
• Experience in MEP disciplines: mechanical, electrical, controls, plumbing, fire alarm, fire protection, or commissioning.
• Strong understanding of MEP design, field installation, building systems, and project management principles.
• Proficiency in MEP design software AutoCAD and Revit.
• Knowledge of MEP codes and installation standards.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient systems and sustainable building practices.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MEP works across design, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems into design.
• Ensure on-time completion of MEP tasks within project deadlines.
• Lead and manage engineers and subcontractors.
• Delegate tasks and balance workload to meet deadlines.
• Provide technical guidance to team members as needed.
• Review MEP designs for compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Approve shop drawings and coordinate design changes with other teams.
• Manage MEP budgets and monitor costs of labor and materials.
