Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Designer / Mechanical Project Engineer to join a growing design team in Charlotte, NC. You will work on building mechanical systems, collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, and gain hands-on experience with modern tools like Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 1-5 years of experience in mechanical design, HVAC design, or building systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with HVAC systems and mechanical building design.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and related engineering software.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and senior staff to deliver successful projects.
• Design and develop HVAC and mechanical building systems for a variety of project types.
• Create and modify construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Coordinate closely with architectural, electrical, plumbing, and structural teams to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Assist with system layouts, equipment selections, and engineering calculations.
• Apply national, state, and local building codes, energy codes, and industry standards throughout the design process.
• Support project production efforts from concept through final construction documents.
• Participate in problem-solving, technical analysis, and design coordination meetings.
• Contribute to maintaining project schedules and design quality standards.
