Job description

CSI is seeking an experienced MEP Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning projects and teams across North America. This role combines project and operational leadership, technical commissioning expertise, client management, and business development.

The successful candidate will have strong MEP commissioning experience, a deep understanding of construction QA/QC, and experience delivering large-scale, hyperscale, or mission-critical projects.

Who We Are

At CSI, we are more than an MEP engineering and commissioning team. We are problem solvers who help owners and project teams deliver facilities that work the way they were intended. From design reviews to field verification and turnover, our focus is practical, code compliant, and built around real world constructability and operations.

We support our clients by strengthening project delivery through MEP quality control, clear documentation, and tight coordination with architects, contractors, and vendors. Our teams work hands on across design and construction to reduce risk, close gaps early, and protect schedule and budget while improving system performance.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution and operational performance of commissioning projects across North America.
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to Project Managers, commissioning teams, and onsite personnel.
  • Manage project resources, schedules, priorities, staffing, budgets, forecasting, and overall project performance.
  • Ensure projects meet client expectations, company standards, applicable codes, commissioning requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain consistent commissioning and construction QA/QC processes across projects.
  • Provide technical oversight of MEP commissioning activities, including electrical testing, TAB, controls, functional performance testing, and integrated systems testing.
  • Identify project risks, technical issues, and performance concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Report project, operational, financial, and business development performance to company leadership.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support the hiring, training, mentoring, and development of Project Managers and project personnel.
  • Support and participate in CSI's North American business development strategy.
  • Develop relationships with existing and prospective clients and identify opportunities to expand CSI's project portfolio.
  • Attend industry conferences, business development events, client meetings, and presentations as a representative of CSI.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent substantial commissioning experience may be considered.
  • Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in MEP engineering, construction, commissioning, or mission-critical project delivery, including at least 5–7 years of direct commissioning experience.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and ability to interpret drawings, specifications, sequences, and code intent and translate them into field verification steps.
  • Strong understanding of construction QA/QC processes and experience building QC programs and processes including checklists, hold points, witness plans, and audit ready documentation.
  • Working knowledge of local building and MEP code requirements and commissioning standards, including ASHRAE, NEBB, and ACG.
  • Practical knowledge of electrical testing, TAB, controls, and functional performance testing.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, teams, schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Strong leadership, client-facing, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience supporting business development, client relationships, proposals, or project pursuits preferred.
  • Ability to travel throughout North America as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE license and/or recognized commissioning certification
  • Previous experience with mega-projects, hyperscale data centers, mission-critical facilities, or other large-scale technical projects strongly preferred.
