Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) in Sterling, VA is seeking an Installation Technician to join our commercial construction team. You will install and service MEP systems, interpret blueprints, and work with project managers to meet schedules while upholding safety standards.

Candidates should have 2+ years of hands-on MEP installation experience, knowledge of HVAC, ductwork, piping, and basic electrical, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on MEP installation experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and basic electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and assist with the setup of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in accordance with project plans and specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents to ensure accurate installation.
• Perform system checks and troubleshooting to ensure functionality and code compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to meet installation schedules.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company protocols.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in clean, working condition.
• Provide excellent customer service on job sites and represent VMG professionally.
