Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our field teams in the DMV region. The role involves installing ductwork, reading mechanical drawings, and coordinating with foremen and trades on commercial projects.

Ideal candidates have hands-on ductwork experience, a commitment to safety, and the ability to travel to project sites across Virginia, Maryland, and DC. VMG offers competitive pay and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial HVAC sheet metal experience.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
• Willingness to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV region.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork and sheet metal systems.
• Lay out air-distribution systems per drawings and specs.
• Install dampers, fittings, hangers, and related components.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and modify sheet metal materials.
• Read blueprints and project specifications.
• Coordinate installation with foremen and trades.
• Communicate material needs and field concerns promptly.
• Operate lifts and power tools safely.
• Inspect work for proper fit and quality.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Meet project schedules and production goals.
