Job summary

PMCS Group, Inc. seeks an Inspector (MEP) to oversee electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work on the LACMTA Purple Line Extension 3 project in the Los Angeles area.

The role requires relocation to or residence in the LA region and about ten years of MEP experience on large-scale projects. You will inspect construction, interpret plans and codes, prepare reports, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate inspections across disciplines with the project team and utilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience on complex projects (large commercial/industrial/transit).
• ICC Certificate of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing.
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-Hr safety certification prior to start of work on the project.
• Approximately ten (10) years of MEP experience.

Responsibilities

• Visit construction sites and inspect each construction stage up to completion, interpreting plans, specs, and codes.
• Monitor safety violations; prepare Non-Conformance Reports when standards are not met.
• Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments and monitor testing activities.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment per LACMTA safety rules and procedures.
• Coordinate preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records.
• Arrange and oversee technical inspections (electrical, mechanical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, asphalt, rebar).
• Coordinate Metro Test lab activities and compare verifications with contractor's lab results.
• Allocate inspection resources, train and supervise inspectors.

Inspector (MEP)

Requirement: Must live in or relocate to the Los Angeles, CA area

Project Description: Inspect MEP work for the LACMTA Purple Line Extension 3 project.

Duration: Approximately 6 months

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Visits construction sites and inspects each stage of construction up to completion. Interpret plans, specifications, and codes and verify contract work is performed in accordance with them. Assist in obtaining approved designs and permits from utility companies for services to construction sites.
• Monitor construction sites for safety violations. Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards. Maintains daily activity logs and reports.
• Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments. Monitor contractor-testing activities. Prepare reports on labor, material, and equipment on site. Determining construction conforms to plans and specifications, if not issue Non-Conformance Reports for corrective action.
• Assist in maintaining, supporting, and promoting a safe work environment while complying with LACMTA's safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates preparation of inspection cost estimates and maintenance records.
• Arranges, coordinates, and oversees technical inspections such as electrical, mechanical, landscaping, soil testing, concrete, and asphalt mixes, and reinforcing steel for conformance to specification requirements.
• Coordinates Metro Test laboratory activities and compares verifications test results with results from Contractor's laboratory.
• Allocate inspection resources, train and supervise inspectors.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience for Senior and Lead positions which reflect a progressively increasing level of responsibility on complex projects of large commercial or industrial construction projects, heavy construction projects, transportation, or transit construction projects for the appropriate disciplines electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.
• ICC Certificate of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing,
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-Hr safety certification prior to the start of work on the project.
• Approximately ten (10) years of MEP experience.
