MEP Field Coordinator: Construction Oversight

Job summary

HPM is seeking an MEP Field Coordinator to monitor construction, ensuring completion within approved budgets and schedules while adhering to regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.

You will coordinate among owners, field personnel, design teams, and outside contractors. The role supports the owner as an extension of the facilities department to manage sorting systems materials and control systems installations, with up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• 5-7 years of experience with on-site management in new construction and large renovation projects.
• Prison project experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and document management tools such as ProCore; scheduling software such as Suretrak/P6 or MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Study and understand drawings and specs, review and understand existing industrial systems, develop work schedule for installation and field oversight to multiple contractors.
• Participate in Closeout Meeting between Architect/Engineer and Contractor.
• Develop and manage contract documents including plans, submittals, change orders, as-built documents.
• Coordinate with Project Manager to maintain business plans.
• Maintain and track field action items and verify completion.
• Utilize software management tools to maintain project documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Manager for construction milestones and preconstruction scheduling.
