Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an MEP Estimator II (Mechanical) who will gather, calculate, and compile data to produce project estimates; for smaller projects, this position will also prepare the full estimate. Location options include Denver, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Chicago, or Milwaukee.

Responsibilities include creating project estimates, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting trade bids, coordinating RFPs, and supporting lead estimators with estimating software.

Qualifications

• Degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
• Minimum three years of construction operations experience
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks and organize data
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools listed above

Responsibilities

• Create project estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material summaries
• Solicit trade partners, obtain bid estimates and time projections
• Prepare, organize, and coordinate RFP documents and schedules
• Determine pricing options and appropriate project price
• Support lead estimator in data input into estimating software
• Participate in plan and estimate review meetings and site investigations
• Assist in gathering information from local government and other entities
• Help manage Addendum log and documents
• Provide training to new estimators and interns

Education

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Civil or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management
