- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids for MEP trade packages
- Collaborate closely with preconstruction, project management, and self-perform operations teams to align estimates with means, methods, and schedule
- Identify scope gaps, value engineering opportunities, and cost/schedule risks early in the process
- Support the development of conceptual budgets and pursuit strategy for competitive and negotiated pursuits
- Participate in bid-day activities, including final bid compilation and client presentations
- Maintain historical cost data and benchmarking to continuously sharpen estimate accuracy
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial, industrial, or heavy civil construction, with a focus on electrical or mechanical systems
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Strong quantity takeoff and cost estimating skills; proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, HCSS, Sage, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret complex electrical or mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience working directly for a General Contractor or self-perform trade contractor preferred
- Strong communication skills and comfort presenting cost information to internal and client stakeholders
- Experience on large-scale, complex, or mission-critical projects (data centers, industrial, healthcare, or heavy civil) is a plus
Why This Role
- Join an organization consistently recognized as an industry leader in self-perform construction and preconstruction excellence
- Work on high-profile, technically demanding projects with real career growth potential
- Strong internal promotion culture and investment in employee development
- Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and full benefits package
