Job summary

SpaceX seeks a Manager, MEP Engineering to lead a multi-discipline team across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in an industrial facility environment. You will own the design basis and drawings from concept to as-built, oversee testing and commissioning, and drive safe, cost-effective project execution.

Responsibilities include coordinating with operations, managing contracts, and mentoring engineers and designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or other engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical, electrical, or MEP engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in a leadership position.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and lead a multi-discipline team of MEP engineers, designers, technicians, consultants, and contractors throughout the full design-build lifecycle.
• Own basis of design, calculations, specifications, and drawing packages from concept through issued-for-construction and as-built.
• Manage design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports across HVAC, process mechanical, hydronics, electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, plumbing, and building/process controls.
• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing MEP construction and startup, including testing, commissioning, and turnover to operations.
• Write, negotiate, and manage design and construction contracts with consultants and subcontractors across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls.
• Accountable for budgeting, scheduling, and general project controls for MEP scope.
