Job summary

WSP USA invites motivated students to join the MEP Engineering Intern - Summer 2027 program. The 12-week internship offers hands-on experience across our Property and Buildings Team in Kansas City, Chicago, St. Louis, and Minneapolis offices.

Enrolled undergraduates or graduates will work with a mentor to develop practical design and analysis skills. The program starts May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate program in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Architectural Engineering, or related field with an anticipated August 2027 or later graduation date.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in MEP or related field and desire to develop skills.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of engineering tasks to build technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering with a mentor.
• Support project research, fieldwork, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Help prepare final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to company policies.
