Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an MEP Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work from our Kansas City, MO; Chicago, IL; Saint Louis, MO; and Minneapolis, MN offices. This 12-week, full-time internship is designed for students enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Architectural Engineering programs.

You will assist with field tasks, research, preliminary design calculations, and cost estimates, mentored by experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, or Architectural Engineering program with an expected graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interest in MEP or related field and desire to develop skills relevant to WSP projects.
• Ability to communicate clearly with engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of MEP engineering with a mentor.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
