Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering: Develop detailed HVAC schematics, piping layouts, and ductwork designs using CAD software.
- Load Calculations: Perform heating and cooling load calculations (e.g., HVAC loads, energy modeling) to select appropriate equipment.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs meet local building codes, energy standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Work with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to integrate systems seamlessly into building structures.
- Site Evaluation & Commissioning: Conduct site visits, inspect installations, and perform system testing/commissioning to ensure performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required for signing off on plans or active Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
