Job summary

Southland Industries in Pflugerville, TX, is seeking a skilled BIM/CAD coordinator to support construction projects through shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP coordination. You will work with design and build teams to improve accuracy and reduce clashes.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED with related experience or a trade apprenticeship, strong communication, and proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2 years of related experience or completion of a trade apprenticeship.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods.
• Detail-oriented and able to coordinate projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, track, expediting and distribution of shop drawings, RFIs and other construction project documentation.
• Create shop drawings for mechanical systems in construction projects.
• Create equipment, room layout, and detail drawings.
• Maintain a protocol of documents so information can be retrieved and understood by others.
• Provide 3D modeling using BIM and MEP coordination.
• Attend and participate in construction and other meetings as required.
• Collaborate with design and build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws.
