Mortenson Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Design Phase Manager to lead electrical design phase activities for multiple commercial projects. You will guide design development, cost estimation, and scheduling while coordinating with owners, designers, and internal teams.

The role emphasizes constructability, lean design delivery, and BIM/VDC utilization, with heavy collaboration, leadership, and travel up to 70% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Construction/Engineering).
• 10+ years construction experience, preferably with MEP exposure.
• 5+ years estimating or on-site PM experience; Preconstruction Manager preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and BIM/VDC tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process for MEP scope across concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with owners to define design phase objectives and key success factors.
• Lead selection and contracting with designers for design-build projects.
• Develop project proposals, design phase schedules, and baseline construction plans.
• Oversee and mentor design phase engineers and estimate teams; control design costs.
• Ensure regulatory approvals, risk management, and LEED tracking compliance.
• Provide input on constructability, logistics, and value engineering.
