Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers invites motivated students for an Intern/Co-Op in our Boston office. You will assist in mechanical, electrical, and fire protection design for diverse building projects, using AutoCAD and REVIT, with exposure to client standards and project teams.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree and will be entering their junior or senior year, with strong analytical and communication skills and a basic understanding of LEED concepts.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Electrical/Fire Protection tracks; design support for ductwork, electrical layout, and fire systems.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD preferred; ability to read and follow standards.
• Enrollment as a junior or senior in an engineering program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and layout of ductwork and mechanical equipment for new and existing buildings.
• Execute electrical designs in line with department procedures and client standards.
• Assist with layout and design of Fire Suppression and Fire Alarm Systems using AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Work with engineers on commercial, government, healthcare, and scientific buildings.
• Use Revit for 3D designs and Navisworks to check interferences.
• Perform basic calculations and assist with equipment research and specifications.
• Visit client sites or attend walk-throughs, meetings with architects and subcontractors.
