Terms of Employment

• Duration: 1-year contract (potential for extension based on project length).
• Location: On-site in Center City, Washington, DC (Federal Buildings).
• Schedule: Primarily second shift (7:00 PM – 3:00 AM) and weekends as needed.

Overview

• Join a leading energy solutions firm as an MEP Construction Superintendent managing critical infrastructure upgrades for federal buildings in Washington, DC. You will oversee the transition of these facilities from steam to new natural gas-fired boiler plants. This role requires a seasoned leader who can operate independently as the sole company representative on-site during night and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day MEP construction activities, specifically focusing on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for new boiler plants.
• Act as the primary onsite representative for the company during second shifts and weekends.
• Coordinate and supervise trade subcontractors to ensure work is completed according to project scope.
• Maintain detailed daily logs and reports using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ensure site safety and security protocols are strictly followed in occupied federal facilities.
• Manage project timelines for assigned buildings, which may range from one to four years in duration.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing).
• Security: Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining an HSPD-12 government badge (requires a clean criminal record and dense background check).
• Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
• Education: High school diploma required.
• Communication: High-level English writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active HSPD-12 badge or Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
• Engineering background or trade school certification.
• Specialized certifications related to mechanical systems.
• Previous experience working on GSA or federal building projects in the DC area.
