Job summary

Kajima Building & Design Group, Inc. is seeking an MEP Project Manager with Construction Focus to lead MEP construction on large, complex projects from groundbreaking through commissioning.

You will coordinate field teams, manage subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and on-time turnover across multiple sites. The role supports the Senior MEP Project Manager, leading field coordination, resolving multi-trade conflicts, and delivering successful MEP installation and commissioning on

Qualifications

• 8+ years MEP project management experience with leadership of field staff and multiple projects.
• Advanced expertise in MEP coordination, quality control, and commissioning.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and does not require sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop construction team members including field engineers, assistant superintendents, and interns through coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Develop subcontractor scope of work, contractual terms and conditions, and finalize subcontractor contracts with MEP trade partners.
• Coordinate MEP construction across multiple project sites, establishing field standards, procedures, and accountability measures while balancing workload and resources.
• Support Senior MEP Project Manager in leading construction on large, complex, high-value projects including fast-track and design-build projects with complex process systems.
• Resolve complex multi-trade coordination issues, interface with design team for challenging field conditions, and provide innovative solutions to installation challenges.
• Establish quality control procedures and inspection standards, conduct quality audits, identify systemic issues, and develop improvement initiatives and training materials.
• Lead commissioning efforts on large and complex projects, coordinate with commissioning agents, ensure comprehensive testing and documentation, and facilitate system turnover and owner training.
• Evaluate and manage subcontractor performance across multiple projects, address performance issues, build strong trade partner relationships, and provide feedback to preconstruction team.
• Serve as technical resource for complex field installation challenges, review and approve field modifications and design changes, and stay current on installation best practices.
• Oversee MEP schedule and budget performance, identify and mitigate risks, monitor costs and change orders, and develop recovery plans.
• Establish and enforce MEP safety standards, conduct safety audits, lead incident investigations, promote safety culture, and ensure OSHA and KBDG compliance.
