MEP Construction Project Leader

Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Project Manager to lead MEP scope on complex construction projects. You will coordinate clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure design, construction, commissioning, and turnover meet objectives, schedules, and budgets.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical background, 5+ years in MEP project management, and strong leadership and communication skills. PMP/PE/LEED/CCM are preferred. On-site work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Building Services field.
• 5+ years of experience managing MEP systems on large-scale projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Knowledge of PM methodologies, delivery processes, and controls.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with MS Office and PM tools (Procore/Primavera/MS Project).
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and client-management skills.
• Professional certifications (PMP/PE/LEED/ CCM) are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP scope delivery across design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors for seamless execution.
• Review designs, drawings, specs, calculations, and submittals for compliance.
• Monitor progress and ensure quality, safety, and performance standards.
• Facilitate issue resolution and drive timely decisions across teams.
• Support procurement, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
• Lead MEP coordination meetings and interface management between trades.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, startup, and handover activities.
• Develop risk mitigations to maintain schedule and budget objectives.
• Prepare reports, forecasts, and executive presentations for clients.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and process improvements.
• Foster client relationships and contribute to business development.
