Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced engineer to manage and evaluate information related to mechanical and electrical systems for complex projects. The role focuses on on-site leadership, coordination with subcontractors and owners, and ensuring class-leading quality and safety.

The candidate will lead a diverse team, drive budget negotiations, and oversee schedules, RFIs, turnover, and start-up processes to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least four years of relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems on construction projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and schedules with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team, subcontractors, and owner representatives to ensure alignment.
• Prepare and manage the contract item list to meet ROJ dates and approvals.
• Participate in schedule meetings and provide latest information for planning.
• Evaluate and manage processing of RFIs.
• Oversee budget, review and negotiate change orders with subcontractors.
• Supervise and mentor Assistant MEP Engineers.
• Co-lead MEP Coordination with the VDC Engineer to ensure compliance with design and quality.
• Create scope of work documents and define trades/responsibilities for temporary operations.
• Collaborate with the MEP Superintendent to resolve conflicts with site logistics and schedule.
• Co-lead turnover, start-up, testing, commissioning and closeout.
• Conduct regular project walkthroughs to verify compliance with documents and submittals.
• Identify challenging installation requirements early for planning.
• Manage municipal and agency documentation for temporary information and operation.
• Create and implement the quality control plan with the MEP Superintendent.
