Job summary

CAI is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in the Seattle area to lead the commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and control systems on complex projects. You will develop plans, schedules, and documentation, and work with technicians and trade partners to ensure systems meet design specs and safety standards.

The role requires a strong background in electrical, mechanical, and control systems, plus excellent troubleshooting and communication skills and flexibility to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience as a Commissioning Engineer on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Familiarity with commissioning procedures and testing methods.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel, including out of state.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commissioning of MEP and control systems.
• Develop commissioning plans, testing schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate field activities with technicians and partners.
• Perform functional tests and verify system performance against specs.
• Prepare test reports and final handover packages.
• Ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations.
• Support design reviews and project management tasks.
