Job summary

CAI is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead the installation, startup, and testing of MEP and control systems on complex capital projects in the United States. You will develop plans, conduct rigorous testing, review designs, and coordinate field activities with technicians and trade partners to ensure safe, compliant handovers.

You will collaborate with project teams to ensure timely project delivery, maintain detailed commissioning records, and travel to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proven commissioning experience in life sciences, semiconductors, or mission critical industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Familiarity with commissioning procedures and testing methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Able to work independently and in fast-paced teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the commissioning process for MEP and control systems.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting to meet design specs.
• Develop commissioning plans, testing schedules, and documentation.
• Create Pre-Functional Checklists and Functional Performance Test protocols.
• Assist with design reviews of MEP systems.
• Coordinate field activities with technicians and trade partners.
• Perform functional performance tests and verify design parameters.
• Prepare test reports and commissioning handover packages.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Support project manager with deliverables and activity tracking.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities.
