URBN is seeking a Staff Accountant to assist in all financial and accounting aspects affecting operational results. You will support key projects, drive process improvements, and proactively meet monthly deadlines.

You will generate and review monthly statements, reconcile accounts, analyze variances, and help close processes. Collaboration with brand partners and shared services is essential to deliver accurate financial insights.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of work experience in accounting, finance, or business analysis.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Retail or apparel industry experience preferred.
• Strong MS Excel proficiency and ability to learn accounting software; Oracle/Hyperion a strong plus.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze financial statements, journals, reports, and reconciliations.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, brand personnel, and executive management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the generation, preparation, and review of monthly financial statements and internal reporting documents.
• Record, reconcile, and analyze monthly activity in income statements (including ad hoc analyses).
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and maintain expense trackers for operational departments.
• Analyze results and explain variance vs budget and prior year.
• Recommend and implement improvements to methodologies and practices.
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes.
• Provide ongoing accounting/finance support to brand partners as liaison between brand and corporate shared services.
• Review management and operating reports to identify trends and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with brand finance on division projects.

Menus & Venues is searching for a Staff Accountant to assist in all financial and accounting aspects that directly affect the operational results. This position will provide support for key projects, process improvements and efficiencies. It is expected that this role anticipates, plans, and works proactively to meet monthly deadlines.

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in the generation, preparation, and review of monthly financial statements/packages, as well as various internal reporting documents
• Record, reconcile, and analyze monthly activity in various income statements (including ad hoc analyses)
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare and maintain expense trackers for operational departments
• Analyze actual results, investigate, and explain variance explanations vs budget & previous year
• Consistently recommend and implement improvements to current methodologies and practices
• Support all other aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close process.
• Provide ongoing accounting/finance support to brand partners as liaison between brand and corporate shared service teams
• Review management and operating reports to identify trends and develop benchmarking metrics
• Work with brand finance team/division related projects

Role Qualifications

• 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in accounting, finance, or business analysis, with a strong knowledge of financial/accounting principles
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Retail or apparel industry experience preferred
• Highly proficient in MS Excel and ability to learn accounting software packages; Knowledge of Oracle and/or Hyperion a strong plus
• Ability to comprehend and analyze financial statements, financial journals, reports, reconciliations, and other related documents
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer group, brand personnel and executive level management
