Job summary

BBBSNM in Alamogordo is seeking a Part-Time, Exempt Program Specialist and Community Outreach to connect mentorship with community engagement and expand access for youth. You will recruit volunteers, match mentors and Littles, and collaborate with schools and local partners to strengthen the support network across the region.

Travel will be required to Roswell and surrounding counties to support BBBSNM programs and events, with some evening or weekend activities as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred or within six months of degree completion
• Associate degree or two years of higher education plus two years related work experience acceptable
• Four years of relevant work experience in related fields may substitute degree requirements
• Strong communication and confidentiality skills; ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Interview mentors and mentees to assess strengths, needs, and match preferences and to make tailored matches
• Coordinate community-based, site-based, and school-based mentorship programs
• Engage with families and parents/guardians to support match development and safety
• Enter data into case management systems accurately and timely
• Plan activities for matches and attend agency events, including evenings or weekends
• Travel across Roswell and surrounding counties to support BBBSNM programs and events
• Build community relationships with schools, nonprofits, and private sector partners to recruit volunteers
