Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Mexico is seeking an organized Special Events and Outreach Coordinator to plan and oversee fundraising and donor-related events throughout the year.

You will support the development of donor communications, coordinate logistics with volunteers and vendors, and represent BBBS NM at community events. This role requires strong written and verbal communication, ability to manage multiple projects, and familiarity with Microsoft Office and social media.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of experience in event planning, community outreach, or public engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee BBBS NM fundraising events and donor relations.
  • Coordinate event logistics, vendors, budgets, and attendee lists.
  • Develop post-event follow-up plans and sponsorship recognition.
  • Support sponsorship solicitation and promotional campaigns.
  • Speak at public events and build relationships with media and partners.
  • Document contacts and report progress toward recruitment goals.
