Job summary

PVD Promise in Providence is seeking a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA to expand capacity within its Youth Engagement Program, specifically its Mentorship Program, which currently serves 30+ middle and high school students through one-on-one mentoring, a college-going curriculum, weekly mentor meetings, college visits, and community events.

The VISTA will build a sustainable mentor recruitment pipeline, refine the curriculum, develop a hybrid orientation/training process, build a centralized resource

Qualifications

• Associates degree (AA) required or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with youth and community programs preferred.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities necessary.

Responsibilities

• Build a sustainable mentor recruitment pipeline.
• Develop outreach materials and partnerships with colleges, universities, and community groups.
• Refine the mentorship curriculum, orientation and training processes.
• Build a centralized resource database for mentors and staff.
• Strengthen evaluation systems to track mentor participation, mentee engagement, and program impact.
• Plan monthly youth workshops and enrichment opportunities.
• Create resources to support FAFSA completion, college essays, and financial aid understanding.
