Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami seeks a compassionate Program Specialist to recruit mentors, enroll youth, and support mentoring matches while ensuring program quality and child safety per BBBS standards. The role is based at our Miami headquarters with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office).

The position offers $18.00–$25.00 per hour, full-time hours, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, retirement, and wellness resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in case management, youth development, education, nonprofit programs, or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to serving youth and strengthening communities.

Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteer enrollment, including orientations and interviews.
• Apply child safety and risk management policies; address safety concerns for children, families, and volunteers.
• Recruit and enroll site-based Littles in collaboration with schools and partners.
• Collaborate with service delivery staff for enrollment, matching, and support functions.
• Determine matches and facilitate introductions based on availability (evenings/weekends as needed).
• Maintain regular contact with children, parents/guardians, and volunteers per agency standards.
• Assess training and support needs for participants.
• Maintain accurate records and case files per BBBS standards.
• Conduct match evaluations and maintain documentation and notes.
• Review child goals and progress with families and volunteers; provide safety reminders and referrals.
