Starting immediately through June 9, 2027, the role involves TEKS-aligned instruction, professional development, and coaching to develop classroom skills and professional practices for becoming a certified educator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Must be admitted into a SBEC-approved Alternative Certification Program (ACP).
• Seek certification in content area and grade level assigned to teach at KISD.
• Active enrollment and progress toward teacher certification required.
• Provide quarterly ACP enrollment/progress reports to KISD HR Executive Director.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and delivering TEKS-aligned instruction.
• Prepare and internalize high-quality lessons.
• Deliver engaging instruction that promotes student learning.
• Use formative assessment and checks for understanding.
• Differentiate instruction to meet student needs.
• Support implementation of the district instructional framework.
• Maintain an effective classroom learning environment.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Participate in required district professional development.
• Meet with mentor teachers and engage in instructional coaching.

Education
