Job summary

Morehouse College is seeking a Mentor-Tutor to provide one-on-one academic support and mentorship via Zoom. You will work with the same student each week, ensuring consistency, and adapt to other subjects as needed. Availability includes 6-8pm on Mondays and Thursdays for the full academic year, with remote work flexibility.

The role includes onboarding traffic: 2 hours at start, plus 1 hour of ongoing monthly training to cover tutoring methods, relationship-building, and safety expectations.

Qualifications

• Must qualify for Federal Work-Study.
• Minimum commitment of 4 hours per week, available Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8pm.
• Capacity to tutor students in one or more academic areas across elementary, middle, and/or high school levels.
• Access to a computer with working audio and camera or a tablet.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and mentorship, adapting to each student’s academic needs and personal growth goals.
• Build a positive, mutually beneficial relationship with the assigned student.
• Remain flexible in responding to changing schedules or student needs.
• Complete onboarding training (2 hours) and 1 hour of training per month; trainings cover tutoring techniques and child safety.
