Job summary

Morehouse College is seeking a Math Tutor (Math Mentor) for a hybrid role at The Anchor School. Duties include one-on-one and small group tutoring for 3rd–12th grade students, both in person at The Anchor School and online, Monday–Friday 2:30pm–6:30pm.

The ideal candidate has a strong math background, prior tutoring experience with K-12 scholars, is currently enrolled as a sophomore or higher (preferred College graduate), and demonstrates excellent communication and time-management skills in a

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions, both in-person at The Anchor School and virtually, to 3rd Grade – 12th Grade scholars in various math subjects.
• Develop and implement effective tutoring plans tailored to each scholar’s needs and learning style.
• Assist scholars with homework, test preparation, and developing strong mathematical understanding.
• Monitor and assess scholar progress, providing feedback and adjusting tutoring strategies as needed.
• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
• Collaborate with Math N’ More staff to ensure consistency and quality of tutoring services across in-person and virtual sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and scholar progress.

Position Title

Purpose or role of this position at Morehouse

Math N’ More, an acute math firm dedicated to supporting grade
school scholars in becoming proficient in mathematics, is seeking a
passionate and dedicated Math Tutor (also known as a Math Mentor)
for a hybrid role at The Anchor School ( TAS ). This position runs
Monday through Friday from 2:30pm to 6:30pm and combines inperson
and virtual tutoring support. The ideal candidate will have a
strong background in mathematics, prior tutoring experience with K-
12 scholars, and a passion for education. This position is perfect for
scholars majoring in mathematics or related fields who aspire to
become educators.

General Qualifications

• Prior tutoring or teaching experience with grade level scholars.
• Ability to work in-person at The Anchor School and virtually, Monday – Friday, 2:30pm – 6:30pm.
• Currently enrolled sophomores or higher (required).
• College graduate (preferred).
• Strong background in mathematics; majoring in mathematics, education, or a related field preferred.
• Passion for education and helping scholars succeed.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in an understandable manner.
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
