Qualifications

• Shall have at least 6 months job experience.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health and/or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

• Encourage client attendance to groups and participation.
• Ensure and assist clients to complete forms properly and timely.
• Documents interventions and interactions with client in the medical record.
• Report changes in behavior to charge nurse and Program Counselor.

The primary purpose of your job position is to oversee clients’ adherence to the program guidelines. The Mental Health Worker is responsible for communicating with persons served, providing rehabilitation groups, and assisting in crisis intervention. Other duties may be assigned as needed by the program director, or a designee.
