Job summary

Care New England is seeking a part-time MHW to advocate for patients and support nursing staff on the Delmonico 3C Unit in Providence. The role involves direct patient assistance with daily living activities and ensuring a safe, therapeutic unit environment.

Candidates should have a social sciences background or related behavioral health experience, strong written and verbal communication, and CNA certification (or progress toward). Schedule includes evenings with every other weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
• Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.
• Candidate must have excellent written skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• External candidates: must have C.N.A certification.
• Internal MHW candidates: must have or complete C.N.A. certification within 6 months of accepting position.
• Schedule: 20/40 Part Time Evenings – Every Other Weekend.

Delmonico 3C Unit Information

This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled.
