Position: Mental Health Workers, Mental Health Specialists

Location: Abraxas I, 165 Abraxas Rd., Marienville, PA 16239

Now hiring Mental Health Workers or Mental Health Specialists to work directly with adolescents at our residential mental health program, Abraxas I, located in the heart of Allegheny National Forest.

Wage: $21.42 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Setting: Residential Treatment

Shift: Varies

Qualifying employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program!

*Our Workforce Program provides additional opportunities for compensation outside of the 40-hour work week where a staff member may earn up to $300 per 4-hour shift.*

*Overtime opportunities available.*

Responsibilities as a Mental Health Worker or Mental Health Specialist
  • Provide supervision, leadership, and serve as a role model to clients in a therapeutic manner.
  • Observe client behavior, intervene appropriately, and document interventions, behavior, and progress.
  • Report significant client changes to appropriate personnel and collaborate with the educational team and mental health therapists to implement treatment plans.
  • Implement daily schedules, coordinate activities, facilitate psycho-educational groups, and conduct head counts for security.
  • Support the philosophy and mission of Abraxas and demonstrate Safe Crisis Management techniques.
Hiring Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program; human services preferred.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Pass physical, drug screening, and background checks.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required.
