Job summary

Better Living Foster Care & Family Services seeks a Mental Health Therapist to provide individual, family, and group therapy within Nebraska's child welfare context. The role requires Nebraska licensure (LCSW/PLMHP/PLIMHP or LMHP/LIMHP) and 1–2 years of direct therapy experience.

The therapist will assess engagement barriers, guide families through changes, and report to the IFP Clinical Supervisor, with in-home service locations across Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
• Hold or be eligible for Nebraska Mental Health Practitioner's License (LCSW/PLMHP/PLIMHP or LMHP/LIMHP).
• 1–2 years direct therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, conjoint, and family therapy within child welfare context.
• Assess barriers to engagement and motivate family changes.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing and clinical supervision requirements.

Mental Health Therapists facilitate practice experiences in individual, conjoint and family sessions related to the Area of Family Functioning concern, assess barriers to engagement and facilitate motivation, guide the family in practicing the changes needed most, and identify family trauma and symptomology. Applicant has the ability to obtain or currently possess a Nebraska LCSW, PLMHP/PLIMHP or holds a LMHP/LIMHP license. This position reports to the IFP Clinical Supervisor.

Education/Certification Requirements

• Minimum of a Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling
• Hold or be eligible to hold a Mental Health Practitioner's License from the state of Nebraska. (provisional)

Experience Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience in direct therapy practices (preferred)
