Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support residents in a group home environment. The role includes supervising in the absence of the House Supervisor, delivering living skills training, and documenting progress in the Electronic Health Record.

The position requires strong communication, basic computer skills, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant certifications (CPR, SAMA, MAC or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Supervise direct care in the absence of the House Supervisor.
• Provide instruction, guidance, and reinforcement to residents.
• Document progress in the Electronic Health Record.
• Coordinate resident activities in the home and community.
• Complete staff notes, incident, injury, and shift reports as required.
• Assist residents with nutritious meal preparation and menu adherence.
• Assist with lifting up to ~50 lbs and transport of clients/equipment.
• Ensure safety, complete safety drills, and maintain a clean environment.
• Attend meetings and maintain certifications as required.
• Submit time sheets and leave requests per policy.

Job Description: In this position, employees care for clients in a group home setting. They work with individuals on living, social, and financial skills. They are also involved in the treatment of clients. Our Mental Health Technician's will learn proper documentation techniques and other state and federal standards followed by the Department of Mental Health. This position will be working Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00AM - 7:00PM.What you’ll be doing:In the absence of the House Supervisor, assume supervisory authority of the direct care of the residents in the facility.Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement, and reinforcement to the residents of the home.Regularly implement basic living skills training objectives and document progress in the Electronic Health Record.Help to coordinate resident activities in the home and in the community.Regularly complete documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH).Regularly encourage and assist residents in the preparation of nutritious meals per the posted menus and completes meal preparations if residents cannot.May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs. and push/pull or transport client and equipmentEnsure residents comply with home rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include the performance of housekeeping and assist clients when necessary.Demonstrate good safety skills, including fire drills, emergency procedures, and back safety techniques.Promote a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, residents, and their families and co-workers.Supervise the administration of medication and document appropriately.Attend staff meetings, in-service meetings, and trainings as required and remain current on all certifications required for employment.Work as scheduled.
