Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Mental Health Technician for the SVH location in Erie, PA. The role supports nursing staff by observing and recording patient data to inform treatment plans, conducting rounds, and assisting in crisis intervention in inpatient or outpatient settings.

The position requires either a Bachelor's degree or 1–2 years of relevant experience, with required clearances and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years relevant experience as determined by the company.
• Non-violent crisis intervention required within six months of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Preferred 1-3 years of mental health or clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to assess changes in patient status and gathers data during rounding and patient interaction in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Organizes patient care tasks by priority to complete essential duties.
• Obtains vital signs and height/weight; provides crisis intervention on unit and responds to Code events.
• Reports changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and suggests adjustments to the treatment plan.
