Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is seeking a Mental Health Technician to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a private psychiatric hospital serving adolescents to geriatrics. This PRN role supports inpatient and outpatient services and collaborates with the treatment team to uphold care standards.

Responsibilities include vital signs, monitoring patient changes, and documenting progress toward treatment goals, enabling timely communication to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; CNA required.
• One year of psychiatric patient care experience preferred.
• CNA licensure required; RBT in Texas preferred.
• CPR certification, Handle with Care and Verbal De-escalation within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Observe and document changes in patient appearance, behavior or progress toward treatment goals.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
