Job summary

Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH, is seeking a Mental Health Technician to support a collaborative nursing care team with hands-on care and a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

You will assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, dressing changes, and infection control, while maintaining clean, stocked spaces and clear communication with families and the care team.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Previous Mental Health/Psychiatric or patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support procedures and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts.
