Job summary

Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Mental Health Technician for PRN opportunities. Schedule is 6a-6p or 6p-6a, with responsibilities that support a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

You will assist with mobility, wound care, and infection control while coordinating with the care team. The role requires a HS diploma or GED, and at least 6 months of mental health or patient care experience, with BCLS and NCI training to be completed within

• Minimum 6 months of mental health, psychiatric, or patient care experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support procedures and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to protect patients through infection control.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to promote safety and quality.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Mental Health Tech you will be a crucial member of our collaborative nursing care team, delivering hand-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth procedures and recovery
• Providing non-medicated care like dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas, operating rooms, and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and environmental logs to keep the team ready and protect patients through infection control
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team while promoting safety and quality efforts

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED required
• 6 months of previous Mental Health/Psychiatric or patient care experience required
