Job summary

BayCare Health Systems is seeking a Mental Health Technician for Morton Plant Hospital - Behavioral Health in Clearwater, FL. This pool, hourly role supports inpatient psychiatric care with a 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM shift and includes every-other weekend work.

Background screening via AHCA is required. Responsibilities include direct patient care under RN supervision, ongoing monitoring, therapeutic interactions, and assistance with physical care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida driver's license required.
• Associate degree in healthcare/psychology preferred.
• CNA/PCT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.
• Monitor and observe patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promote communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Assist with physical care under the direction of an RN.

Mental Health Technician Prime Pool Position Details:

• Facility: Morton Plant Hospital- Behavioral Health
• Location: Clearwater, FL
• Status: Pool, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.
• Assists with physical care under the direction of an RN.

Requirements:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• High School or Equivalent
• FL Driver's License
• Preferred - Associate's in Healthcare/Psychology
• Preferred - CNA/PCT

Preferred Experience:

• 6 months - Psychology based experience
