Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is seeking a Behavioral/Psychiatric Health Technician to support daily patient care under RN and Shift Supervisor. You will assist with safety assessments, participate in treatment plans, and help with grooming and group activities.

Full-time hours include 3-12 hour shifts per week, with every other weekend rotation, 7am–7:30pm. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, disability, life and pet insurance, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Human Services related field preferred.
• CPR certification required (can obtain after hire).
• Experience working as a psychiatric technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in ongoing assessment of safety and emotional needs of each patient.
• Demonstrating awareness of treatment plan elements and providing intervention as needed.
• Assisting patients with grooming and personal hygiene.
• Participating in assigned groups and activities to meet patient needs.
• Maintaining therapeutic and professional rapport with patients.
• Participating with staff to maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu; use de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Making rounds every 15 minutes or sooner for patient safety.
• Assisting the RN with admissions and discharges; performing vitals, belongings searches, and orientation to the unit.
