Job summary

Cedar Creek Hospital of Michigan, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a Behavioral/Psychiatric Health Technician to support adolescents and adults in a 81-bed facility. Responsibilities include patient safety, de-escalation, and routine care under supervision.

The role involves 3-12 hour shifts per week with an every-other-weekend rotation, from 7pm to 7:30am, at Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan. CPR certification preferred; HS diploma required with Psychology/Human Services background

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Human Services related field preferred but not required.
• CPR certified (can obtain once hired).
• Experience working as a psychiatric technician preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ongoing assessment of the safety and emotional needs of each patient.
• Support the treatment plans with individualized care.
• Assist patients with grooming and personal hygiene.
• Participate in groups and activities for diverse patient populations.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients.
• Contribute to a safe and therapeutic milieu; provide de-escalation as needed.
• Make rounds every 15 minutes or sooner for patient safety.
• Assist the RN with admissions, discharges, vitals, searches and orientation.
