Chicago Behavioral Hospital in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our compassionate team. You will work under a Registered Nurse, providing continuous care and positive role modeling for patients from preschool to geriatrics, helping create a therapeutic environment that supports well-being.

Your responsibilities include accurately recording vital signs, crisis intervention, leading MHT groups with CPI techniques, assisting with discharge, and guiding patients through

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred or CNA preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques preferred.
• Ability to follow therapeutic interventions and report changes to RN.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record vital signs.
• Exercise judgment in patient interactions and report changes to the RN.
• Follow therapeutic interventions outlined by the treatment team.
• Conduct MHT-led groups using CPI techniques.
• Assist patients through discharge and adjust to life changes.
• Help with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment following universal precautions.
