Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL, seeks a Mental Health Technician to join the St. Joseph's Main team. The position is full-time, hourly, with a 6:45 PM–7:15 AM shift and every-other weekend schedule.

You will deliver direct patient care under RN supervision, monitor patient wellbeing, and support therapeutic interactions to enhance safety and treatment outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision.
• Monitors and observes patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details:

• Facility: St. Josephs
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred
• Patient Care Technician - preferred

Education

• High School or Equivalent
• Associate's degree in related field -

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in related field-

Preferred Experience:

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
