Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician I to join our care team. You will assist in coordinating nursing and psychiatric care with the multidisciplinary team and support patients and families in a compassionate, collaborative environment.

You will observe and document patient status, assist with activities of daily living, and help in crisis intervention as needed. A strong commitment to privacy and patient rights is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT or similar vocational/technical degree preferred.
• 2-year Associate degree preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) within 90 days of employment required.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observe, report, and document patient status using the nursing process per hospital/policy standards.
• Provide and document information on patient care to the team.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and support in crisis intervention as needed.
• Advocate for patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Follow guidelines for reporting significant medical errors or adverse outcomes in patient care.

Education

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or similar vocational/technical degree
