Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician I on a PRN basis to provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and participate in the therapeutic team. You will support environmental care, safety, and basic nursing tasks as outlined by hospital policies.

The role requires completing Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 90 days, along with fingerprint screening.

Qualifications

• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Fingerprint Required.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and supervision under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Technician I provides patient care and supervision under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The MHT I provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environmental/instrumentation, and other health care members. The MHT I functions as a member of the therapeutic team within limits as designated by the policies and procedures of Fort Walton-Destin Hospital.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
