Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Springfield is hiring Mental Health Technicians to support children and teenagers in inpatient psychiatric care. If you are compassionate and dependable, you can help create a safe, therapeutic environment.

Flexible opportunities include full-time, part-time, and PRN with day and night shifts, offering meaningful patient impact and teamwork in a care-focused setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• At least one year of experience in a children’s services program or residential setting, or two years of college coursework in social sciences.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention training to be completed during New Hire Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive role modeling and teach life skills to residents.
• Conduct observation rounds and document patient behavior.
• Support daily living skills through coaching and supervision.
• Lead or assist with individual and group activities.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with discharge.
• Use verbal de-escalation when a resident is agitated.
• Accompany patients to meals, recreation, and education activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to successfully complete CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention training during New Hire Orientation.
