Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Springfield is hiring Mental Health Technicians to support children and teenagers in inpatient psychiatric care. Full-time, part-time, and PRN roles with day and night shifts available.

You will provide role modeling, supervise residents, and assist with group activities in a therapeutic setting while prioritizing safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Experience in a children’s services program or residential setting preferred.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• CPR and CPI training completed during New Hire Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive role modeling and teach life skills to residents.
• Conduct direct observation rounds and document patient behavior.
• Support daily living skills through task assignment, coaching, and supervision.
• Lead or assist with individual and group activities and programs.
• Orient patients to the unit and assist with discharge process.
• Use verbal de-escalation skills when a resident is agitated.
• Accompany patients to meals, recreation, education activities, and unit-based programming.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• At least one year of experience in a children’s services program or residential setting, or completion of two years of college coursework in social sciences.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Ability to successfully complete CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention training during New Hire Orientation.

Schedule: Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities available. Day and night shifts are available.
