Centennial Peaks Hospital in Louisville, CO, part of Universal Health Services, seeks a Mental Health Technician (MHT) to support inpatient psychiatric care. You will help create a safe milieu, observe patients, document treatment information, and assist the nursing team under supervision.

The role involves crisis intervention, group activities, and daily living support, with full-time night shifts and uniform shift differentials.

Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

The Mental Health Tech (MHT), creates a safe environment for patients, observe and record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reporting this information to the nursing team, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living. This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Shift Hours: Full-Time, 4-5 shifts per/week, 8-hour shifts from 11:30p-7:30a. 2 weekend shifts (4 monthly) per pay period REQUIRED. For overnights this is Fri, Sat, and/or Sun

This position is eligible for our generous shift differentials:Weekend Day (Sat-Sun) $2/hr, Evening (Mon-Thurs) $3.25/hr, Weekend Evening (Fri-Sun) $5.00/hr, Night (Mon-Thurs) $5.00/hr, Weekend Night (Fri-Sun) $7.00/hr.*mustwork three and a half hours (3.5 hours)intoa shift to qualify for shift differential.

Qualifications

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.
