Job summary

Centennial Peaks Hospital in Louisville, CO, is seeking a Mental Health Tech to support the psychiatric patient population under RN supervision. The role focuses on maintaining a safe milieu, observing and reporting on patient status, and assisting with daily living activities.

Shift is NOC 11:00pm–7:30am, with mandatory weekend shifts and available shift differentials to compensate for off-hours work. The position offers opportunities for career development within UHS and its subsidiaries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• One-year experience with psychiatric patient population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training preferred or ability to learn.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and therapeutic milieu for patients.
• Observe and record patient information relevant to treatment plans and report to the nursing team.
• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Participate in crisis intervention as needed.

Located in beautiful Louisville, CO, our 104-bed facility provides a peaceful setting for those seeking treatment for mental illness including chemical dependency. Centennial Peaks offers unique and individualized programming for adults that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities. Our dynamic leadership team includes a seasoned nursing department. Our hospital is fortunate to provide Electroconvulsive Therapy, Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs in addition to inpatient services.

The Mental Health Tech (MHT), creates a safe environment for patients, observe and record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan and reporting this information to the nursing team, saves lives, when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living. This role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Shift Hours: NOC Shift: 11:00pm - 7:30am. Each shift is expected to help with alternating weekends. 2 weekend shifts (4 monthly) per pay period REQUIRED.

This position is eligible for our generous shift differentials:Weekend Day (Sat-Sun) $2/hr, Evening (Mon-Thurs) $3.25/hr, Weekend Evening (Fri-Sun) $5.00/hr, Night (Mon-Thurs) $5.00/hr, Weekend Night (Fri-Sun) $7.00/hr. *must work three and a half hours (3.5 hours) into a shift to qualify for shift differential.
